Milwaukee VIL Lab Grand Opening
Recently, Milwaukee Public School District leaders, educators, students, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the launch of the Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL) Lab at Morse Middle School. The VIL Lab program is a partnership between Verizon, Heart of America, and The J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute at Arizona State University, and provides immersive learning opportunities powered by an emerging tech-infused curriculum that includes augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and 3D printing.
This lab will support over 500 students this year in leveraging technology to engage in social innovation and design thinking to positively impact their communities. The program will also provide opportunities for 40 Morse Middle School educators to integrate technology in the classroom to further ignite students’ interest in STEM careers and develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities needed to succeed.
For over ten years, Verizon has been working to foster digital inclusion through Verizon Innovative Learning, which is part of the Citizen Verizon framework. The VIL Lab program at Morse Middle School is the latest example of Citizen Verizon’s commitment to help move the world forward for everyone! Check out photos from the opening below!
