Baton Rouge Bayou News: 10 companies seek share of $90M to provide broadband in Capital Region

Ten companies are seeking a share of $90 million in public funding to help them bring broadband internet access to unserved areas in the Capital Region. The program is part of an effort to improve access, affordability and usage of high-speed internet in Louisiana, in hopes of promoting economic development and bridging the “digital divide” by 2029, says Veneeth Iyengar with the Louisiana Office of Broadband Development & Creativity.

Containing more than 600,000 square feet in six buildings on 30 acres, The Beach is a multi-building office park offering office space, multi-purpose research space and conference facilities.

Biz New Orleans: 12 Startup Companies Selected for the Idea Village Accelerator Program

The Idea Village has released the list of 12 startup companies that will participate in its 2022 VILLAGEx program. Over the next four months, the nonprofit business accelerator will support entrepreneurs and founders by providing access to mentorship, subject matter expertise and other resources, including marketing and design services, legal counsel in partnership with Jones Walker LLP and fundraising preparation.

Natchitoches Times: NSU, EAP team up to prepare students to be entrepreneurs in Louisiana

Hot ideas just won students some cool cash in this year’s Inferno Pitch Business Model Competition. The competition was presented by Northwestern State University’s School of Business, College of Business and Technology and BRF’s Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP), which provides services to innovative startups and works to stimulate entrepreneurship opportunities in North Louisiana.
