The Philadelphia Citizen: I Voted! …But We Need To Talk.

It was 2016 and my daughter Isabelle’s first time voting. We thought we were living history and electing the first woman president. We took selfies and planned a late-night celebration with apple pie and bubbly.

We all know the rest of that story.

Four years later, I am eager to celebrate on Inauguration Day 2021, but I am less excited about voting than at any other time in my life. As a super voter, it has been disheartening to realize how little satisfaction I now get from voting.
