A vaccine won’t fix hundreds of years of racism and overt and unconscious bias, Expedia Group CEO Peter Kern said in an email to employees over the weekend.

“We all must be a part of the solution and we each must rededicate ourselves to the cure,” Kern said.

The killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer and the ensuing protests and riots prompted an outpouring of words from virtually every major tech employer in Seattle. With a watershed moment seeming to unfold, no company wanted to be seen as indifferent.
