Founded in 1764 in Providence, Rhode Island, Brown University was the first Ivy League school to accept students from all religious affiliations, a statement to the spirit of openness that is still exemplified at Brown today. Brown is continuously ranked highly within the United States but has also been noted as one of the top 100 colleges around the globe. Their mission to serve the community, the nation, and the world by discovering, communicating and preserving knowledge is embodied with this year’s awardees.
