Verizon Community Partner Chat with Dr. Ilan Shapiro of AltaMed

One of the most rewarding aspects of our community engagement work is the opportunity to partner with many non-profit organizations and support innovative programs that help advance the diverse communities we serve. In May 2020, we launched our Verizon Community Partnerships Initiative to celebrate Verizon-supported community organizations and highlight their important work.

Our latest Community Partner interview is with Dr. Ilan Shapiro of AltaMed Health Services, an organization providing healthcare to underserved members of the Los Angeles community for nearly 50 years. We delve into the organization’s COVID-19 response through outdoor testing centers and the importance of telehealth, especially in the Latinx community.

We’re extremely proud of this new Verizon partnership that is serving the healthcare needs of 1,000+ individuals a day and is making a significant impact in our community.
