Recently released information from the Business Formation Statistics Report shows Michigan just missed the top ten in most business startups in 2021 of all 50 states, ranking No. 11 of all 50 states.
The state reached 150,465 business startups created in 2021, up from 130,081 in 2020 and the highest number since tracking began in 2004. Michigan had 59% more business startups in 2021 than before the pandemic in 2019 (150,465 compared to 94,433).
